English is an international language. It is widely used and spoken all over the world. It is the medium of communication and correspondence in the business world and international relations.

 

English is also the medium of instructions in most of the colleges and universities in the world. 

English is needed to communicate and do business across national borders.

That is why English is so important. We should learn English for higher education as mostn of the books are written in English. 

Any information is available in English. So to get access

to any information, we need English. 

Learning English benefits us in many ways. It helps us

while we travel abroad to do business with other nations and maintain communication with them. It also helps us to get a good job and better salaries. 

English is the second language in Bangladesh as it is widely used in almost every sector of the country. 

However, our students are not quite good in English. 

They try to learn English by cramming. Their target is to get good marks in the exam rather than learn the language. But to keep pace with the modern world, they must improve their skill in English.

 My suggestions for them are that they should spend more time and be very serious in learning English. 

They should use and speak English in every sphere without bothering about the mistakes. 

They should also listen to English programmes and read English books and newspapers. This will help them a lot.
