Past Continuous Tense: Education English Blog

Past Continuous Tense:  অতীতকালে কোন কাজ কিছুক্ষণ ধরে চলছিল এরূপ বোঝালে Past continuous tense হয়।​

Affirmative Sentence:Subject + was/were + main verb + ing + object.​

He was/she was/I was/we  were/they were/you were/ti was/father was/Mita was/​

Examples(উদাহরণ)  I​

আমি কাল বই পড়ছিলাম                                                                -   I was reading a book yesterday.​

মিতাকে একশ টাকা দিচ্ছিলামমিতাকে একশ টাকা দিচ্ছিলাম  -   I was giving one hundred rupees to Mita.​

আমি লতাকে দুইশ টাকা দিচ্ছিলাম                                                -   I was giving Two hundred rupees to Lta.​

আমি সুমনকে তিনশ টাকা দিচ্ছিলাম                                              -   I was giving three hundred rupees to Sumon.​

আমি সুমনকে চারশত টাকা দিচ্ছিলাম                                        -   I was giving four hundred rupees to Sumon.​

তুমি মিতাকে এগারোশ টাকা দিচ্ছিলে          

-   You were giving eleven hundred rupees to Mita.​

মিতাকে বারোশো টাকা দিচ্ছিলে                    

-   You were giving twelve hundred rupees to Mita.​

সুমনকে তেরোশ টাকা দিচ্ছিলে                    

-   You were giving thirteen hundred rupees to Sumon.​

সুমনকে চৌদ্দশত টাকা দিচ্ছিলে                 

 -   You were giving fourteen hundred rupees to Sumon.​

মিতাকে পনেরোশ টাকা দিচ্ছিলে                  

-   You were giving fifteen hundred rupees to Mita.

​

আমরা ভারত ছিলাম                                                                          -   we  were India.​

আমরা একত্রে ছিলাম. তিনি আমাকে বিশ হাজার টাকা দিলেন

  -   We were together. He gave me twenty thousand rupees.​

আমরা একসাথে ছিলাম ভুলে গেছি তিনি ত্রিশ হাজার দিয়েছেন                           

-   We were together, I forgot he gave thirty thousand.​

আমরা একসাথে ছিলাম, ভুলেই গিয়েছিলাম সে আমাকে দশ হাজার দিয়েছে  

-   We were together, I forgot he gave me ten thousand.​

আমরা গতকাল সন্ধ্যায় ঢাকা যাচ্ছিলাম।আমরা গতকাল সন্ধ্যায় ঢাকা যাচ্ছিলাম। 

-  We were going to Dhaka last evening.

​

সে গত কাল ইন্দিঅ ছিলেন                                 

-   He was in India yesterday.​

সে আন্তরিক ছিল                                                   

 -   she was sincere.​

সে বইটি পড়ছিল                                                    

-   she was reading the book.​

তিনি আশি হাজার টাকা দিয়েছিলেন            

-   He was giving the Eighty thousand.

তারা ফুটবল খেলিতেছিল          -   They were playing football.​

তারা সুখি ছিল                               -   they were happy.​

তারা স্কুলে যাচ্ছিল                      -   they were going the school.​

তারা বাজারে যাচ্ছিল                 -   they were going to the market.​

Negative sentence: Subject + was not/were not + verb + ing +object.​

Examples(উদাহরণ)  I​

আমি সুমনকে পাঁচশ টাকা দিচ্ছিলাম না                  

-   I was not giving Five hundred rupees to Sumon. ​

আমি সুমনকে ছয়শ টাকা দিচ্ছিলাম না                   

-   I was not giving Six hundred rupees to Sumon. ​

আমি সুমনকে সাতশ টাকা দিচ্ছিলাম না                 

-   I was not giving Seven-hundred rupees to Sumon. ​

আমি মিতাকে আটশ টাকা দিচ্ছিলাম না                 

-   I was not  giving Eight hundred rupees to Mita.​

আমি মিতাকে নয়শ টাকা দিচ্ছিলাম না                   

-   I was not  giving Nine hundred rupees to Mita.​

মিতাকে এক হাজার টাকা দিচ্ছিলাম না                  

-   I was not  giving One thousand rupees to Mita.​

​

আপনি মিতাকে এক হাজার টাকা দেননি              

-   You were not  giving one thousand rupees to Mita.​

তুমি মিতাকে ষোলশত  টাকা  দিচ্ছিলে না             

-   You were not giving sixteen hundred rupees to Mita.​

তুমি মিতাকে সতেরোশ টাকা  দিচ্ছিলে না            

-   You were not giving seventeen hundred rupees to Mita.​

তুমি মিতাকে আঠারোশ টাকা  দিচ্ছিলে না           

-   You were not giving eighteen hundred rupees to Mita.​

আপনি মিতাকে উনিশশ টাকা দিচ্ছিলেন না       

-   You were not giving nineteen hundred rupees to Mita.

​

আমরা একত্রে ছিলাম. তিনি আমাকে বিশ হাজার টাকা দেননি   - We were together. He did not give me twenty thousand rupees.​

আমরা ভারতে ছিলাম না                                                             -   We were not in India.​

গতকাল সন্ধ্যায় আমরা ঢাকা যাচ্ছিলাম না।                        -   We were not going to Dhaka last evening.

​

সে আন্তরিক ছিল না               

-   She wasn't sincere.​

সে বইটি পড়ছিল না           

-   She was not reading the book.​

গতকাল তিনি ভারতে ছিলেন না  

- He was not in India yesterday. 

তারা ফুটবল খেলছিল না             

-   They were not playing football. ​

তারা খুশি ছিল না                            

-   They were not happy.​

তারা বাজারে যাচ্ছিল না              

-   They were not going to the market.​

তারা স্কুলে যাচ্ছিল না                   

-   They were not going to the school.
